General Information.
There are two different types of freshwater fish species. The categories are warm water and cold water. The fish are different in each category, for instance, warm water holds less oxygen than cold water. This means that fish that live in cold cold water require a higher oxygen level in order to live. Warmwater fish (around 80°F) include largemouth bass, bluegill, catfish crappies, and sunfish these fish thrive the best in warm temperature waters. Coldwater fish (around 60-70°F), include the Muskellunge, northern pike, walleye, and yellow perch. They are generally found in the northern and midwestern states.
